Cisco Switzerland held its first Nexus 5000 boot-camp with over 90 participants on the infrastructure of Datacenter On Demand. Rock solid engineering knowledge with great response times combined lead to a great success show casing latest and greatest 10G Ethernet and Fibre-Channel over Ethernet Labs and demonstrations. The VMWare ESX infrastructure is very well maintained, remotely accessible and all our wishes have been fulfilled by the available equipment as well as the provided support from very friendly staff. Cisco can only recommend this Datacenter On Demand environment for any VMWare related demo, training or other lab activities.

the test center setup was easily accessible via an RDP client over the internet. the test center workstation was a windows XP based workstation with all of the tools necessary to manage the test center.the tools that were installed were an SSH client for access to the ESX server console, virtual center and internet explorer for access to the web based management interface of each server in the test center.
connectivity to the test center was good (we are in the US and the testcenter is in europe) and the test center itself was very responsive. since all of the tools are windows based everything had a graphical interface that was easy to use and was layed out well.communication with the "test center" staff was very easy and the staff was very responsive. most emails were answered within an hour or two and on two occasions emails were sent to the staff during the late afternoon here in the US and the staff replied with in minutes during what should be evening off hours in switzerland. the test center staff can be reached via either email or skype even though most of my communication with the staff was via email.
initially we had a "conference" call using the skype VOIP client so the staff could go over the various tools for the test center with me before i started my testing. on one or two occasions. the test center staff was curtious, very helpful and knew their stuff concerning vmware.

As a VCP with a passion for virtualisation technology we have a number of corporate clients who need a proof of concept before purchasing any virtualisation technology. As a company we needed the decision makers to work on live equipment and demonstrate all the technologies that VMware offers.
